Sympathy for Lady Vengeance
Hello
Yay. Watched Sympathy for Lady Vengeance just now. It wasn't as bloody as I thought it would be but it wasn't like, an entirely bloodless show.
I'm wondering if they cut out stuff though. There wasn't much that would warrant it R21. Except that the themes were pretty dark and everything.O.o And I thought that the part where they all donned raincoats and gloves to go kill the guy was like.. O.O! It was so weird.. It's like planning ahead that you truly intend to exact hurt on the person. And with such preparations.. It's like an operation that you're going to carry out with the full intention of things getting bloody. I thought it was a rather good show if slightly disturbing and with very strange camera angles at times.^_^" I think Lee Young Ae is really quite a versatile actress! Heh. ^_^ I love the stuff she cooks in Da Chang Jin! Yay.
Hmm. Some parts weren't incredibly realistic though. But I'm sure we can move on without bothering too much about them.=)
I thought the ending was really long and draggy though.O.o It's like, omg.. Will this never end?! Are they EVER moving on?! -_-"
Wee! New love affair with Pandas. SO ADORABLE.xD Yay.
Jiamin: I wonder if he got the hint about the COACH FACTORY OUTLET.*sob* And I love pandas too!!! =D All the more we should try to save their natural habitat in Sichuan, China.=) Yay!

Yay. I finally dug out my essay + attached question paper.^_^ I do like this poem. Full of nice meaningful phrases, great way to show you how one word can say so little yet mean so much. Too bad I took the analysis just a step too far..=X
Smalltown Dance

Beautiful isn't it.^_^ I thought it sounded wonderful although a bit O.o when I first read it but after that..^_^ Beams.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to change my wallpaper. All this whiteness just kills my eyes.O.o But after using this wallpaper since.. well.. forever, it's a bit of a tug at the heartstrings to just abandon it for Gackt. After all, it's a pretty wallpaper and has angels, and other pretty anime/manga characters.^_^" However, the image on the Gackt wallpaper is amazing and is from the same photoshoot as this one:
I love this image. He looks absolutely amazing, just something about the image makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And the thing he's holding? It's like a secret box, full of surprises and wonderments. Something like how I'd like to think that I can feel something great waiting for me after the A levels. So everytime I look at this image, I feel warm, fuzzy and as if I'm anticipating something great..And I still can't decide whether or not to abandon my current wallpaper for Gackt. Decisions decisions.O well. Back to work. I'm almost going to complete my self-assigned work schedule for the day.=) I realised that as long as I don't set overly ambitious targets and consider properly whether I have free periods and time after school/consultations and what time I have at home, I really can actually complete what I assign myself.^_^ Be Disciplined SY! Nya!On the other hand, The Sixth Station is a rather contemplative piece and is marvellous for calming one's spirits [after all the hyper cat action] and returning to a bout of serious thinking. I love it so very much but am trying to refrain on putting it on repeat too much in case I get sick of it. The one thing I noticed and enjoyed about the Romeo & Juliet movie starring Leonardo Dicaprio was the music at the Balcony Scene which I love and adore with all my heart. GP Mock Paper

Brain is dying at the moment from the bloody GP Mock Practice Paper.-_-" Growls. O well. Anything but math. I don't need to be depressed further.^_^
And I noticed that Brenda was right. My wishlist just gets longer and longer and nothing ever disappears. ;_; That's not supposed to be a good thing right? [Stuff will come off from there soon. I can feel it! xD]
Reading an article Anthony Bourdain wrote for the New York Times [NYT] on Singapore and it's food.^_^ Apparently, it'll be published this Sunday in The Sunday Times so wait for it! He rhapsodises about laksa.. sup tulang [bone marrow soup] and more..^_^
Anyway. My dad thinks I should start applying to US universities right around.. Now. ^_^ I guess that answers my question doesn't it?
I haven't felt like blogging lately. Or rather, I feel like writing something but I don't know what to say. This is worrying. However! I was reading online and discovered that.. Korova Cookies from Paris Sweets [by Dorie Greenspan, who also did a collaboration with Pierre Herme] look amazing!!! Immediately, I took out my book and poured over it. ^_^ I feel like baking chocolate chip cookies now. I'm sure they'll be well received. But.. (T_T) Not much time to do that. Sigh.
Anyway, remember I mentioned [eons ago] that Gackt was performing at the Hey!x3 Special on the 25th of September? ^_^ *beams!* I watched the clip on youtube and am currently downloading the files off Bittorrent [I love Bittorrent.xD Except that it's rather slow.^_^"]. Yay! I like Gackt's hair now.=) =) =) And he looks about 3 million times younger! [The first thing I thought was: OMG. Maybe he just came back from plastic surgery!!! Then Protective-Fangirl took over and whacked me on the head.^_^"] I tell you. It's his new hairstyle. The Redemption one was horrible.xP Sigh. And while the first part of show is downloading at light speed, the part with Gackt [he obviously appears near the end. Sign of fabulous popularity. *preens*] is .. rather slow.(T_T) Sobs. O well. Saw the super poor quality video on youtube so my curiosity isn't dying yet.^_^Yay. I'm looking forward to watching Giselle and Carmen in October.^_^ Something to look forward to. [Besides the few days after October 18th.xD]On the way home today.. We spotted a practically neon-pink Moon.^_^

With disturbingly few days left to the A Levels, my panic buttons have been pushed and I'm now struggling to quit being distracted and start studying hard.xP Should have started a looong time ago but better now than later! ^_^ *optimism shines brightly* The worrying part is that I've ahem. Forgotten a lot of stuff I remembered at prelims [which, admittedly, wasn't very much] but! I shall remember EVERYTHING by the time the A Levels come and be a spouting IH/SEA/Othello/Duchess of Malfi/Silas Marner/all 9 War lit texts/All Math Formulas/All argumentation in check, walking encyclopaedia!!! Okay. Maybe not. But! That shall be my goal. Yay! ^_^ *optimism shines even more brightly*
wendaye: You have no idea how much I want to actually SEE them in bed together.xD xD xD Ahaha. Beams! And I think the Soup Spoon isn't half bad! ^_^ It's just hugely filling though.O.o And next time.. Post pictures!!! ^_^ Yay. Haha.

Aerin's at Raffles City + You stories!
HelloWarning: Image Heavy! Long Entry Ahead!
Today we lunched at Aerin's at Raffles City Basement One.=) It's got a really nice airy atmosphere like Whitebait & Kale since it's located next to the fountain, under a skylight.^_^ Aerin's was opened by the same people as Whitebait & Kale so you can expect the same kind of Modern Australian fare.
The fountain next to our table made for a pretty sight, but I felt it was too loud and noisy. It made the place feel nice and open though.
The drinks selection is extensive and for a change, my dad ordered a Sangria:
It's basically red wine with fruit, and this one had .. fizzy water? Soda? Yes.^_^" I think it's a perfect summer drink although Aerin's was rather diluted and had barely a tinge of the red wine.. I think if it had more red wine, it would have been a great drink. I loved the fruits.^_^
The menu is not huge and has a nice selection for each course. The appetizers are great for single portions if you're not planning to eat a large main course. However, they merrily provide plates and thus.. encourage sharing.^_^
I ordered the Baby Spinach salad with a poached egg, crispy pancetta, shavings of mozzeralla [spelling?] and pine nuts topped with a Balsamic dressing. I regret using the flash on that picture.xP You'll notice the switch to natural light come the main courses.. It makes the food look so.. harshly lit.O.o Anyway. I love spinach salads! And I loved the pancetta bits [little pieces of bacon] and pine nuts in the salad.=D Yum.
My mom ordered the Mezze platter. Below are pieces of pita with olives, above are pieces of brilliant bread. The dips provided [from left]: a yogurt mint and cucumber mixture that was fabulous and refreshing, hummus [hummus is made from chickpeas] and sundried tomato hummus. I loved the sundried tomato one and the cucumber one.^_^ Yum. Tasted brilliant with the pita. I felt the hummus was rather salty..=X The one from the Cellar Door deli isn't bad.^_^"Main courses!
I had Spaghetti with sundried tomatoes, Bay prawns and arugula tossed in olive oil, garlic and some herbs that I couldn't recognise. The prawns were amazingly fresh, there was a spring in each bite! ^_^ The spaghetti was also perfectly al dente which made me very pleased. Adding sundried tomatoes and arugula made this dish feel very healthy although it was very filling. [It looked deceptively light!] The dish was heavily salted but I thought it tasted yummy anyway.^_^ I really liked this, especially for the spaghetti and the prawns. Yay!
My mom had a grilled lamb salad with mint-yogurt dressing. The lamb was really good.=D It went brilliantly with the dressing! ^_^
My dad on the other hand, had a steak pita sandwich with the most brilliant French fries. They were winners on all counts for me: Shoestring, Crispy, Nicely salted [not overly].^_^ Yum! They also went brilliantly with ketchup so I was very happy. I love French fries!!! =D =D =DDessert!I ate the butter cookies provided with the coffees that my dad and aunt ordered and boy were they good!!! xD YUM. I polished them off too fast to take a photo.^_^" They were crumbly, light and very buttery tasting. Yummy. I love good butter cookies. Sables are a great favourite too.^_^ My aunt promised to pass me a recipe soon. Yay!
My grandfather had the Creme Caramel which he seemed happy with.=) I didn't try it though. I'm not urm.. fond of Creme Caramel.^_^"
We shared the Apple and Rhubarb tart topped with homemade vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was really good, rich and creamy. However, everyone felt it was too sweet.^_^" You could see the vanilla specks in it though, very promising! It was really good but so rich! xP
I liked their puff pastry which was flaky, buttery and light. It went well with the ingredients inside: apple pieces, chopped rhubarb and plumped up raisins.=) Yum! It was my first taste of rhubarb and I really liked it, it was slightly sour not tart and went well with the apples. The raisins also added a nice sweet touch to the overall filling. ^_^ A good first experience with rhubarb.All in all, the place was rather expensive for a student like me but is pretty okay for working people who actually have money [unlike me].^_^ The service there is also quite prompt and responsive, possibly because the place wasn't working at full capacity. The atmosphere is brilliant and located at Raffles City, makes it convenient for a nice lunch before shopping! ^_^ Beams.Not that I actually shopped. But I did buy a notebook at Prints. So prettay! Butterfly prints! ^_^ Yay. My mom loved the print too. She wants to buy a few sheets of their wrapping paper [very nice wrapping paper I might add.] and frame them up as wall decorations.=D I fully approve by the way. ;) Their wrapping papers aren't terribly expensive either, my mom was like, ooh not too expensive! =D And when she says that, you can be pretty sure they really aren't overpriced. Heh!My eyeliner practices have been failing! My mom is all, JUST GO AND GET LIQUID EYELINER. Sigh. Not like I don't want liquid eyeliner. But.. xP No time to buy! I don't know what brand to buy! I don't know how to effectively use it! (T_T) Sigh. She insists that I'm a lousy makeup artist [well, duh.] and that I make my eyes look like "tadpoles". -_-" Very flattering. xPWas flipping through Seventeen. I think it's ridiculous, they put the model in clothes from Blackjack. Hello. Do you know how expensive Blackjack is?! And Perfect in Black too!!! -_-" $200+ is the norm for one piece, which I don't think is in the range of every girl in Singapore. Tsk. And there was one outfit that looked so NANA I was like, -_-" NO ORIGINALITY. Sheesh. And many wannabe avant-garde shots.-_-" Not impressed sorry. xP Maybe I'm just biased but I roll my eyes at a lot of stuff in the magazine. O well. At least they urm. Show a wide range of stuff in other price ranges? =X [Okay. Not really. I mean, cheaper stuff would be like Topshop.]But then again. I want to go to Perfect in Black to look for prom stuff! xD Haha. I've been telling my mom that since.. A long time ago. And she also goes, It's not cheap.*glares* ^_^" Heh. Cheaper than Laundry by Shelli Segal at least? =X Oops.Apparently there's laksa for dinner tonight. Things are not looking good. I couldn't stop beaming to myself after I read some of the stories off itsumademo.net.xD Some of the more juicy ones:"After the Requiem et Reminiscence tour, You asked Gackt, "Where would you like to go?" (meaning, like after the show) and Gackt replied, "Hawaii." So they both got on a plane that evening and went to Hawaii. Another World was written while they were there. This really shows how far You will go to stay with Gackt."SO CUTE.xD *dies*"You made Gackt a cake for his birthday once. Gackt didn't want to eat it because he thought it would be sweet, and everyone knows he hates sweets. Teochew Porridge Buffet
HelloWent for a Teochew Porridge buffet with Brenda, her sister, her cousin and her sister's friends. It's her sister's birthday and she gave us a treat.^_^ THANK YOU!!! *beams* Happy Birthday! [in advance.xD]It was at Orchard Hotel and it really wasn't bad at all. At first the selection looked rather pathetic but I thought that it was overall not bad.^_^ There were chicken wings, braised belly pork [kong bak? Is that how you spell it? The one you eat in a white bun.], different kinds of porridge and loads of condiments.^_^ The aunties and uncles there were super scary though. They just piled their plates with so much food and stood around like hawks waiting for the kitchen to replenish the food.O.o I was like, o no! *squeaks* *runs away from killer auntie glare* xP Kiasuism perhaps? The spread wasn't too bad after all. And it was fun! Haha. They were taking random shots with the birthday cake.^_^I'm really tired though so I won't elaborate much..Managed to talk to Brenda while studiously doing Othello.xP Things are beginning to make sense! I is feeling progress.xD Yay. The Coffee Bean at Borders has a rather nice atmosphere if a bit noisy and with very inconsiderate customers. [I had to clear 2 tables! First to sit down at one then later, a bigger table left so I moved over and had to clear their trash too. Like omg. PLEASE BE MORE CONSIDERATE. *glares* Walking to the bin helps you burn calories!!! RAWR.] So that annoyed me. But.. I think it's not too bad a place.^_^ It's rather busy but not overly so. However, I am very against Borders. Firstly.. They have a terrible selection of books. Secondly, the products there are in rather bad condition. Thirdly, it's really crowded and congested so I had squeeze through people. So.. In conclusion.. I say we support Kinokuniya!!! Yay.=D I love Kinokuniya! *Beams!* I announced it to my mom and she was like, is Borders bad? *confused* Sigh. Nothing can compare to Kinokuniya. [Plus it has tons of Japanese related stuff. Yay.]So yes. Been calculating costs for shipping from YesAsia, CDJapan and HMV Japan. My brain is dying from all this mathematical trauma. Jiamin! You must see my calculation sheet. Damn proud of myself!!! [Although I do admit that there might be errors from my lousy calculator punching skills..xP] Yay. Haha.cch: You mean you actually ate JellyHearts before?! O.o You neber tell me! Hrmph. And I was doing it in between schoolhours! So it's not counted as "free time to study". xP And it was math lecture. Not my fault! xP And you have no right to talk. You didn't even take Math C. *glares*Jiamin: Get the number from Joyce.=) She says her aunt buys it for her family for every single birthday without fail.^_^ OMG! CLAMP! Yay.=D I really wish I could draw you know. I'd totally want to go into Manga! ^_^ And I already apologised for my lousy storyline! And I had to make people realise the one of the mountains was my proudly folded Chatterbox after all.xP Hrmph. I personally think it was mildly inventive.Okay. Tired. Journey of the Crane and the Frog
Today, we witnessed an incredible journey..

Introducing our 2 leads! The Frog and The Crane! =) They will be starting on their journey in just a moment but they posed in this contrived manner just for us. ;)At the beginning..
The Crane flew aCross-Country in search of a friend and a distant land.. Long and arduous was the journey.. The Crane travelled high and far eventually reaching..
The Land of the Chatterbox Mountains.
Upon that mountain lived The Frog. It resided alone among the peaks overlooking vast areas of land and bored faces. In the distance, it could view the screen whenever it was bored to be sent to sleep..
To it's horror, it met The Crane when The Crane landed on the Chatterbox Mountains. They faced each other gravely. The Frog was dismayed to find that it's private land was invaded by this.. this.. WHITE creature that blends very well into the Chatterbox Mountains.
In a fit of anger.. The Frog did the unthinkable to our other favourite character in the story amidst the mountain plateau of the Chatterbox Mountains! All the better for hiding one's crimes..No! Cried The Crane. The Crane told The Frog of the wondrous sights of the world, far from the Chatterbox Mountains, full of Sunshine! [It also requested to be let out of the drippy mouth of The Frog.]
There! Cried The Crane. Do you not see the Land of the Fit? It is a long and winding path to the Land of the Fit. And our heroes must first pass through The Path.. One of Great Temptation..The Frog was amazed at the colours it witnessed amongst the leaves. Not all things blended in with The Crane!
The Redness dazzled The Frog. The gasp of air The Frog let out from it's Large Mouth tumbled The Crane and it lay against camouflage once again.Is this it? Is this the Path of Great Temptation?
The Frog opened it's mouth wide in an attempt to swallow all The Redness as quickly as possible. *burp*Our heroes have thus encountered the Path of Great Temptation. What lies ahead is the Greatest Challenge.. The Land of the Fat.
The Land of the Fat! Conquered by The Crane and The Frog. It lay in ruins, where even the Chatterbox Mountains had tumbled to the ground in defeat. RAWR! Our heroes said gleefully. They felt too heavy and full to move on.Are they to give in to the Land of the Fat?

Random updates!
Malice Mizer will be releasing a 10th Anniversary Collection on the 18th of October.^_^ It's called La meilleur selection de MALICE MIZER. It's got 14 tracks of Malice Mizer releases up to Le Ciel. Poor Klaha seems to have been forgotten from all these special Malice Mizer releases.O.o Possibly because when he was with them they were under Midi:Nette whereas all these special releases are under Columbia.^_^ By the looks of it, it seems to be just a CD.=) La Collection des Singles was re-released [CD + DVD] in July 2006 [was originally released 2004].^_^
Gackt's Limited Release SACDs will start being released in October. ^_^ It'll follow the sequence that he's released his albums in it seems.. Starts with MARS on 25th October.=)
Gackt will be appearing on the HeyHeyHey! special on 25th September.^_^ I think it's their anniversary for being around for 13 years or something.^_^ Other guests include Amuro Namie, K, Otsuka Ai, Every Little Thing, Arashi, Tackey & Tsubasa [if I'm not wrong in reading the kanji..], Koda Kumi, Bonnie Pink, etc. I can't wait!!! ^_^ *prepares Bittorrent*

Gackt's 2007 calender is $42 on Yesasia, $5 off the list price!!! (T_T) *wails* I read on one girl's blog that the one she ordered through Lawson comes with a little easel to prop the calender up on. Wails.
*SQUEALS!* THEY HAVE REBIRTH (JAPAN VERSION) ON SALE AT LAST!!!!!!! I need that CD. Like.. right around.. NOW! (T_T)
Anyway. After a fruitless attempt to look for Math Work Books, I have decided that in this last 5 weeks *shaky voice* I really have to buck up on the MATH PRACTICE. (T_T) My math is so sad!!! My foundations are so weak, it really is laughable. Sigh.
Was examining the entire A Level schedule today. I have one week where I have a paper every single bloody day.(T_T) How is this supposed to be effective? Whatever happened to the, "you usually have a few days in between papers!" thing?! *whines* How can they do this to us!!! Sigh. Okay. Actually, now that I think about it.. I don't have a paper everyday because I'm spared from econs. But still! Sigh. I feel for my dear friends.. All the papers are lumped together. Sigh. At least the last paper isn't E8 or I'll just be like -________-"
Hrm. Gackt doesn't sing with a nasal voice on Kimi ni Aitakute or Love Letter.O.o What's with this inconsistency thing? Or maybe he thought a nasal voice suited the other songs better? O.o I've been having a Gackt revival recently.. Listening to the other songs that I don't really listen to.. ^_^ [Though I'm still switching between Jpop and Jrock.. Jpop is nice easy-listening! Like Shiki! Shi-soons.xD xD xD And Endless Story! ^_^] And Rentrer en Soi has been on heavy rotation along with Inugami Circus-Dan. Yay. =) Oh. And Hyde! ^_^ Been listening to Faith alot.. The song 'Jesus Christ' is really good. Heh. And Moi Dix Mois.. I was walking home just now when a Moi Dix Mois song came on.. It had this really freaky beginning because it suited the area I was walking in really well.. You know.. Mysterious scary church bells.. Was listening to music while doing work in the library today and I realised that what I've been reading is right! Gackt really has changed his style of singing.O.o In Love Letter [the album, not the song], he sings in this.. nasal way. [Except for the song Love Letter. I mean, there's a bit but it's not as obvious..] So I noticed that.. Then to see if his voice really has changed, I listened to some songs from his first album, Mars and I realised that.. the way he sings.. really is different!!! (T_T) His voice is still good of course.. But I really prefer his old style. It's a lot more pleasant and well.. I'm not totally fond of this nasal sound though I will continue to be a loyal supporter!!! Ahaha.=P Anyway, I read somewhere that he seems to be limiting his range this way.. Perhaps it's because he's getting old. Ahaha.=P But why Gackt why!!! (T_T) I must go listen to Diabolos and see if there's the same problem.. =(
Anyway. My brain is still frazzled from all the math I've been doing.O.o And I still suck at math. It's really quite sad. Sigh. O well. No time to despair! Must. Work. Very. Hard. *determined studious look*

Mid-week Men
Hello
Maybe I should start a new thing called Midweek Men.^_^ Cheers everyone up midweek so we can face the rest of the week bravely!!! Or it could be called Wednesday Women.. But somehow it doesn't have the same.. catchiness to it.=P [Not that Midweek Men is a particularly inventive theme..]
First off.. We'll start with everyone's favourite guy lately! =) He's the star in a popular Korean drama and has girls squealing with delight. ;)

His real name is Kim Tae Gyung. Or something unglam like that. ;) Hyun Bin sounds a lot catchier.. I don't really like him. He's.. cute I admit. But not someone I'd squeal madly over.^_^" I think he looks good in the first picture though. Yay.

I LOVE THAT DRESS by the way. ;) I'd starve myself for 3 months to fit into it.xD xD xD [That way I can also save on food and use the money to get someone to professionally do my hair and makeup. Paradise Kiss Merchandise!

Yay! For Jiamin and Joyce.. Paradise Kiss Merchandise! ^_^
Introducing.. The large ring that is a limited edition with only 100 pieces on sale! It's modelled after the large ring Yukari wore for the fashion show that *sighs dreamily* George made for her.^_^ *beams to self*
It also costs a very scary sounding 39,900yen. It's not quite my style seeing as it is huge and very embellished.^_^" But! It would probably look good on other people. Yay.
Next up! The ring I prefer since it's a lot more subtle.. ^_^ The small one is the 'regular' edition and is modelled after the one that George made for Yukari after finding that she loved the huge ring but didn't want her to destroy it before the show.^_^ So sweet. *beams*
It costs a slightly more afforadable, but still rather expensive 15,750yen. It's pretty! ^_^ I like this one a lot. But I'm not fond of rings..
Anyway, the next piece is my favourite.=D =D =D They are earrings!!! Dangly subtle ones too.^_^ They are modelled after the earrings Yukari wore in the fashion show when she was wearing the blue dress.
It costs a ridiculous 10,290yen. But I think it's really pretty!!!!!! I WANT!!! (T_T) But I mean.. look at it. Does it look like it's worth 10,290yen? No? I didn't think so.xP But still. It's so pretty!!! (T_T)
They really look like the ones from the manga!!! Except for the fact that the rings aren't beaded but are made from metal.=) But I think beaded ones might look really cheapskate so.. I think the choice to use metal was the right one.^_^
Yay.=) I love manga! It's so destressing. ^_^ I told my aunt I use manga [haha. only recently. ;)] and going online to destress and she was all, what's manga?! ^_^" Older generation.. *shakes head* But when I told her "Japanese comics", she seemed to know what I meant. My Box by Gillian Clarke
HelloAfter a fruitless attempt at looking for Smalltown Dance by Judith Wright, I decided to post this poem instead..^_^If it looks familiar.. That's because it's from our O Level Lit Unseen paper! =D Haha. Ahh how useful unseen passages are..My BoxMy box is made of golden oak,my lover's gift to me.He fitted hinges and a lockof brass and a bright key.He made it out of winter nights,sanded and oiled and planed,engraved inside the heavy lidin brass, a golden tree.In my box are twelve black bookswhere I have written downhow we have sanded, oiled and planed,planted a garden, built a wall,seen jays and goldcrests, rare red kits,found the wild heartsease, drilled a well,harvested apples and words and daysand planted a golden tree.On an open shelf I keep my box.Its key is in the lock.I leave it there for you to read,or them, when we are dead,how everything is slowly made,how slowly things made me,a tree, a lover, words, a box,books and a golden tree.Gillian ClarkeI cringe now looking at my pathetic annotations.O.o How did I even manage to write a satisfactory essay from that? Lunch at Wah Lok+ EMO-ness
Da Jhia Hao! [in the ^_^v style of Keita.][You might be wondering what's with the"Keita-style Da Jhia Hao"! =P Keita & Co. (aka Ryuichi and Ryohei from w-inds.) introduce themselves like that on MTV Chinese.^_^ "Da Jhia Hao! Wo men shi WINDS!!!!!!! *beams beams beams*" Ahaha. It's very cute.=P]ANYWAY. We went to Wah Lok [at Carlton Hotel] for lunch today and I would like to draw your attention to the Char Siew Bor Lor Bao! xD I love Bor Lor Bao [Po Lor Bao?]
Look! Doesn't it look cute, fat and round?! xD [Yes.. I ate 2.=P My mom and aunt weren't thrilled at this. My yiguma liked it though.xD Haha.]It isn't at all like the Crystal Jade one which has pastry like bread. This one's pastry is much thinner and they are very generous with the Char Siew filling. The filling was quite sweet though, just like Crystal Jade's. I would prefer it to be a bit more savoury. The pastry here also grows on you and doesn't fill you up like Crystal Jade's does. Also, the topping here has a wonderful caramelised crunch to it whereas Crystal Jade's is more flaky, apparently a closer version to one in Hong Kong. [For the record.. I don't think they have char siew bor lor bao in Hong Kong. Just the butter & sugar version.^_^ I haven't tried it in Hong Kong yet. Yay! Excuse to go! =D]And look at the filling! [Sorry for the blurry picture.. All these pictures are taken by phones.]
Charsiew spilling out.=)The dim sum at Wah Lok isn't worth mentioning. *rolls eyes* The e-fu meen wasn't half bad though I would rather have just eaten it with mushrooms, those chive things and beansprouts. The addition of seafood was quite unnecessary. The pork ribs with strawberry sauce was okay I guess. The pork ribs were fried well but the sauce tasted so "HI I'M FLAVOURING!". -.-" I found the XO Carrot Cake too soft though it had a nice taste. Everyone loved the yam cake [like lor bak gou except it's made from yam]. I'm urm.. Not a fan of yam so.. ^_^" It tasted good though. But as I said.. I'm not a fan of yam.. =XNow I'm filled to the brim with carbs.O.o Completely full..Argh. And yet I'm still thinking of the unattainable Chocolate Daifuku?! (T_T) I think what I'm really thinking of is something that will squirt chocolate in your mouth when you bite into it..xD *thinks of Chocolate Custard filled Beard Papa* I saw a recipe for chocolate custard cream puffs! ^_^ Except the custard is made from scratch.O.o I think I'll urm.. Cheat instead and use custard powder..^_^"My mom just came in to tell me that urm. Her chrysanthemums have started to flower.^_^" Very exciting news indeed...=S [Since chrysanthemums are called "ju hua" in Chinese.. I actually heard "chwee kueh" at first and I was like, you mean.. Chwee Kueh has flowers?! Ahaha.=X]Anyway.. Must introduce everyone to one member of the emo club! xD
