Long Overdue

Hello

Gosh, I just realized that its been a month since I last posted! No thanks to the varying internet circumstances (curses!), moving-out-moving-in fiasco (I swear every year I'll never move again and what happens...?), start of school jitters... (hardly jitters really, I was rather blase about the whole affair and have yet to regain any sense of urgency with regards to the growing pile of readings and assignments that are gathering dust in a corner...)

And so with a new school year comes my spanking new laptop as well - a 15" MacBook Pro that gleams in the light (silvery aluminum body), sparkles with clarity (total HD screen), and emits that very soothing chord when it starts up. There also comes the freedom and superior feeling of senior year as well as the dread and stress of recruitment season.

Also, because I took advantage of that school deal from Apple, I got a free iPod Touch! Which is super fun to swipe and poke by the way, but I'm really really anal about fingerprints and so now I live in pain every time I look at my screen. (Even with a screen protector! Screams.) I think one of the fun things about Apple products is that fabulous way you can use your fingers to manipulate what is on the screen. The page not in the correct orientation? Grab it and turn it! The window in the way of you clicking that ONE file? Send it away with a swipe!

Of course, Apple being Apple *rolls eyes* has its drawbacks too. For one, the damn system won't let me delete with a tap of the delete button. No. I have to drag the file down to the rubbish bin. WHY. -_-" And selecting files is such a pain. I totally prefer Windows in that aspect... Oh, and have I mentioned the pains one faces when figuring out Excel? Ahh. I'm glad that I don't deal with numbers and programming on the daily basis because trust me, I'll probably be up at night as the new mass murderer in town.

So new technology! What else is new? Mmm. Not much really, I haven't been doing much by way of shopping - apart from books, CDs, and the occasional new item for the wardrobe... Oh right. We just received a shipment from Sasa! Ohhhh. It's an evil site. Especially for people who can appreciate the deep complexities of buying Asian beauty products in this country. I am displeased however, that large bottles of my favorite Tsubaki are unavailable... -_-" So I still have to get those off Amazon and miss out on my Tsubaki DVDs that I could have bought in NYC had I had luggage space...

One of the best parts of receiving the new technology that adorns my belongings is, of course, shopping for nifty and cute accessories to go with them! My current laptop case is just a tad too short (sigh) and so for the sake of my laptop and my weak heart, I am currently hunting for a pretty laptop case... Unfortunately, pretty and sturdy laptop cases tend to have matching pretty and sturdy price tags which is a deep and not so pretty problem for moi. *sigh* Then there's the problem of obtaining cases for my precious 電子辞書 and iPod Touch as well...

And I thus spend an afternoon, with the full intention of doing work but getting distracted... Never fear however, no matter what happens, I will finish my work. =P

Alright then, time to think of negotiating strategies...
