A Japanese Teleconference + 青花瓷

Hello!!!

=D This evening we had a live teleconference with Mie University in Japan.=) Very cool!! Haha. It was super fun. Except now I have to write a reflective essay in Japanese and I don't really know what to write except "interesting!" and "fun!". Haha. I can see my limited vocabulary slowly by surely killing me...

We, the American students learning Japanese, presented in Japanese on varied topics like music and food. It seemed completely elementary compared to what they presented to us, the topic of immigration in Japan in English. O__o It was very interesting though.=) I only wanted to giggle because it was so cute that they all spoke in super katakana-ed English. Hahaha. Kawaii.=D

We kept telling sensei that we should do this more often!!! Haha. And it was so cool that there was absolutely no lag. xD xD xD I love technology!!! I think that if people do this kind of thing more often, your conversation ability will improve by a lot.=)

Anyway, it's a busy two weeks coming up.. xP I have so much to do! But let me share the extremely hard to read lyrics of Jay Chou's 青花瓷 which is an extremely nice song I might add.=D Please listen to it!

Midweek Men: Week 4

Hello

Yay! Midweek Men is progressing nicely.=D I now have.. *coughs* 4 editions! [Well. Technically, this is the 4th but anyway.] Review of the past ones:

Week 1: Hyun Bin (Snow Queen), Daniel Henney (My Name is Kim Sam Soon), Miyavi and Mr Rabbit
Week 2: Lelouch (Code Geass), Tom Schilling (NAPOLA), Saga (alice nine.) and Mr Rabbit
Week 3: Tachibana Keita (w-inds.), Terashima Nobu (NANA), hyde/HYDE (L'arc~En~Ciel) and Mr Rabbit

So today I was watching TV and they had a trailer for the movie Initial D, which will soon be showing on local TV!!! xD xD xD Squeals! So I shall do a special on Initial D.=D

First up:

Edison Chen or 陈冠希!!! ^_^ Beams. Obviously I am biased because I think he's the cutest in the show but I know a lot of girls like the other guys.=D

Edison Chen was born in Vancouver but is currently pursuing his career as an actor and singer in Hong Kong. He is currently recording his new album and has just released a new single. Edison is best known for his looks though he does have a large number of films under his belt. His most recent endeavour was The Grudge 2 and he has acted with Shawn Yue and Jay Chou in Initial D as well. He has also acted in Infernal Affairs, Infernal Affairs II and The Twins Effect. He also has a personal blog (link here) [he has horrendous English omygoodness].

Next up!

Shawn Yue or 余文樂! =D I think he's okay-looking though I know people who would strongly disagree with that..=P

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Shawn Yue started his career as a model before branching out into movies and singing. So far, he has released 4 albums and has a ton of movies under his belt as well. He has acted with Edison Chen in Infernal Affairs, Infernal Affairs II, as well as Initial D. His first movie, Leaving Sorrowly [what kind of English is that?!], was what propelled him to fame and Initial D also led him to an opening in the Japanese market.

And then we have...

The main star of the show, Jay Chou or 周杰伦! ^_^ I really like his music though I haven't much to say about his acting abilities. O__o

Jay Chou is from Taiwan and is an award-winning musician, singer and producer. Thus far, his albums have all sold millions of copies and he has released about 7 albums. While not known for his looks, his fusing of various styles of music has led him to gain increasing popularity among his fans. Besides music, he has also starred in various movies including Initial D and The Curse of the Golden Flower. He is currently filming a Taiwanese adaptation of the manga, Slam Dunk which is due to be released in 2008.

And there you have it! ^_^ I would feature Anthony Wong or Chapman To because I think they are great actors but I'm currently too lazy.=X Ahem.

Besides! Today's the day that...

Gackt's new single is released!!!!!! *bounces around* RETURNER～闇の終焉～, Gackt's 28th single to date, is also linked to the drama he is starring in, Fuurin Kazan! ^_^ The PV is absolutely EPIC I tell you, what with dying soldiers in a crummy old battlefield and all.xD They also filmed the whole PV in 28 hours straight. Gackt wears his samurai outfit and flings himself around in a very dramatic fashion, all to great effect of course.^_^

Renewed love for Gackt! ^_^ Yay!

Also, today I went to the newly renovated NTUC at Bukit Timah Plaza. GOSH ITS SPACIOUS. Haha. I think they are trying to do the upmarket thing but at the moment the place just feels.. Well. Really big.O.o Oh! And they have an instore KFC and instore Chocz cafe as well.^_^

And I just got a call from my OGL at Michigan. How timely that they should catch me before I go to Shanghai and right after I come back.^_^

Anyway, I am off to watch more Fuurin Kazan. =D =D =D
