Vote for JRock on Rock Band!

It's about time Jrock got it's due recognition from the international community! (Mainly North America seeing as it's rock band but anyway...) And what better way than to introduce people via a game?

While I'm sure the whole music section would work out pretty well (guitar, bass, drums are all basic), I'm not sure how the vocal part will work seeing as a lot of people cannot exactly sing in Japanese (and a lot of jrock singers don't have the best pronounciation either...).

Also, it would be interesting to see what kind of songs they would choose to put on Rock Band. Would they be technically difficult so that people can play at high levels, or will they choose something more mainstream to appeal to a wider audience? Jrock in and of itself has a unique sound that makes you go, "Ah that's Jrock isn't it?" when you hear a track. It's not that American music doesn't have its own sound (it does) but there are many different types compared to Jrock (which is varied too, but in a different way).

And maybe they'll even have Jrock costumes for you to choose from to dress your avatar!!! xD That would be fun...

So please vote for your favorite Jrock band! ^_^

In other news, I have yet to watch the Gackt DVD (horrors!) but I have listened to alice nine.'s compilation release with great relish~ I need to find a 4 hour block!!! (T_T)

Hello

I have a new obsession.*dies* These jrock obsessions never cease to haunt me!

For example, I cannot, absolutely cannot stop watching D's Ouka Saki Some ni Keri PV [youtube link HERE]. It's Japanese theme is absolutely eyecatching. And it is so pretty!!!! *squeals* And the song is fabulous. I am always always taken in by Japanesque songs and videos. Like how Kagrra, totally sucked me in with their Japanese-style music. xD

Oh the prettiness! Okay, so this is a picture from a photoshoot not a screencap from the video but hello. So! Pretty! xD

Look at Ruiza, the extremely talented guitarist! Don't you just melt from his gaze? xD

And Mr Lead Singer [ASAGI] is so photogenic.*__*! Actually, it was his look that first attracted me to D.. Then I read online reviews about how good their work is.. Then I sampled some of their music and now.. I am hooked. X__x

Is that a good thing?

One thing I must make clear: They have great music! Full of complex melodies, great guitar riffs, nice bass bits and complementary drumming. Plus ASAGI [the vocalist] has a great voice! Not as good as Gackt's but very good! =D

And a very nice look that is full of.. well.. splendour. And it is so visual kei. Which I like very very much. =D I haven't seen so much effort put into costumes and makeup and such in my obsessions for a while.. I miss these more Visual bands.

On my way home from lunch with YX today, I saw this lady on the bus. She had this utter air of elegance hanging all about her and she looked so cool and unruffled just sitting there in the bus. She was dressed simply, in a white top, black skirt, a long beaded necklace and a light blue shawl, but she looked the height of chic! Her hair was carelessly pulled back into a messy bun and she had on the slightest touch of makeup that accentuated her gorgeous eyes. Plus, she had a wonderful nose that gave her a queenly profile.

As she got off the bus near the French embassy, I noticed her carrying a French book and so I came to the conclusion that she's French. No wonder she had that air of elegance about her. It makes me wonder though, is this aura cultivated... or inborn?

Happy Birthday Zeelei!

Hello

^_^ Today we celebrated Zeelei's birthday! =D And following tradition, we have neoprints! =D

Wee! This machine at The Heeren is very cool because there are more ways to customize your pictures after you've taken them. The point where you can draw and decorate your purikura [or neoprints] allows you to customise and we came up with these.=P

Mwahaha. I think this one is really cute! =P

Because we baked her birthday cake, we ate it at the very glamorous Cine foodcourt.=P And this was after dinner at Swensen's so we were pretty stuffed.O.o

The urm cake is actually in front of us! ^_^" It's made from the usual chocolate cupcake recipe which has yet to fail me.=D

Yay! I was looking at Shoxx Bis today and ohmygosh. I fell in love with Shoxx again!!! I LOVE their photo shoots. =D =D =D Everyone looked fantastic in them!!! It was a 2-sided cover issue, one side with The GazettE and the other with D. Ahhh. URUHA! xD xD xD BEAMS. And the vocalist in D was wearing this absolutely GORGEOUS kimono. I wanted to just steal it off his horribly skinny self.-_-" SO GORGEOUS!!! *attempts to find pictures*

Kagrra,, Food Dreams and Basic Theory.O.o

Hello

I had a food-related dream. Again!!! (T_T) Is this like.. inauspicious or something?! (T_T)

Instead of eating though, I was worrying over baking. Ahaha.=P I dreamt that I was attempting to bake Jiamin's sister's almond biscotti. So I had this hand-written instruction sheet in front of me with very.bizarre.drawings. Haha.=X The instructions called for 4 cups of flour [4 cups?! O.o] but when I had measured it out, it was like, SUCH a huge pile, it resembled 4kg of flour. Then the dream magically skipped over to the end stage [or what I believed to the end stage] before putting it in the oven. So apparently, I was supposed to proof the mixture [which was still just a whole load of flour in front of me] and I had to follow this really complicated drawing. Strangely, I could also pick like, 1 of 8 different methods. And when I kept asking Jiamin, so which is the best? She kept going, JUST PICK ONE! (T_T) Very helpful. So the instructions were like, I had to steam the mixture? [Like, O.O] [Besides. Who proofs FLOUR for biscotti?! O.o] But it had to be steamed in this really funny pot that I couldn't find. Nevertheless, I kept repeating [over and over again I might add] that I hadn't added the ground almonds. O.o And.. The flour in front of me just sat there. So before I woke up, all I was doing was staring helplessly at the diagram while Jiamin was roaring at me to pick a method.

Anyway! O gosh. I so regret not buying any Rentrer en Soi or Kagrra, albums in Japan. (T_T) Sobs. However will I find them here?! I just heard this [relatively] new Kagrra, song, Utakata. It's really nice! And they use this guzheng-like instrument. [It looks completely like a guzheng. But I'm pretty sure it's not a guzheng since it's, presumably, supposed to be a Japanese instrument.] Kagrra,'s sound has been described as "neo japanesque" which probably refers to how they utilise old-Japanese sounds in their rock music. It's brilliant! I totally love it.=D *beams* It's a teensy bit like Inugami Circus-Dan in that while Inugami's vocalists has that old-Japanese warbling sound [urhhh. It's nicer that Kabuki though, thankfully.] Kagrra, uses the music as a blend with their rock sound.^_^" I'm very bad at explaining this. But it's really good.*nods earnestly*

It's also a good thing that Gazette has been improving their music lately.^_^ *approves* Their latest release, Hyena, actually sounds.. palatable! *gasp* Compared to *coughs* Maggots, Hyena and Filth in the beauty are like, totally and completely melodious.^_^ Yay for mainstreamness! I hope they don't turn completely mainstream though. It's nice to have a bit of an edge.

And while I'm still on this J-rock chatter, don't you think Dir en grey's "Agitated Screams of Maggots" is the most hilarious title ever? xD Their new album has really funny titles. I couldn't help chortling at how earnestly "disgusting" they wish to sound. Like "THE DEEPER VILENESS". Ahaha. At least nothing's misspelled.=X And what's with the capitals? Ooh. Check out this line from Agitated Screams of Maggots: I'll rape your daughter on your grave. Positively repulsive! Ohh Deg! If I didn't find your earnestness in being gross so funny, I would honestly be insulted.*nods*

Ahh. The random world of J-rock.xD It's so amusing!

And it keeps me from dying of boredom while trying to memorise [note choice of word: trying] the stuff in the Basic Theory handbook. Will I really encounter ALL these signs?! (T_T) At least they don't have those "beware of snow" signs because then I will really murder whoever designed it.-_-"
